Here’s a list of the top 10 agencies in the Boston area:
Take a time machine back to like 2007 and pick Modernista!
Since I'm sure OP was looking for actual info and not testing standup material, here's my go-to resource for "what are the actual agencies" in a given city (not necessarily a ranking of quality): https://thecreativeham.com/agencies/boston/
As you see, it's quite sparse. I haven't worked in Boston since 2012 but my guess is Mullen is still your best bet.

The point is that the Boston scene is dead to dying and sharing a list that includes Almighty and GYK is just as unhelpful as anything else here. Gonna suggest Modernista next?
Boston used to have 3-4 decent big agencies: Mullen, Arnold, Hill Holliday and later on, Digitas.
Arnold lost their liquor accounts along with most of their business outside of Progressive. Creative leadership there hasn’t been great. Hill Holliday had a steady meltdown from 2012-2020 and have mostly only pharma now. Digitas is still a Publicis agency, so they’re never going to prioritize creative there. Plus the agency is pretty small now. Mullen still does some fun work, but they’re a shell of the creative powerhouse they used to be. From what I’m told, Mullen has an insular culture and seems to keep really bad leadership around for too long.
Right now, the only place you should consider is Mullen, but even then, it depends on which account you’re on.
Hope that was helpful. I know it’s a bleak assessment, but Boston used to be a top ad market and now it’s not. Agencies in NYC, Chicago and Austin have slowly but surely stolen all the business.

I would avoid Mullen like a person without a mask.
I mean, I'm in Boston and you're not wrong.
Still, this seems like an outsized level of snark when in a world of various wonders you simply made an ad for Burger King.
Mullen? Arnold? 🤷🏻♂️
Everywhere is dead right now, especially for creatives. Will be very difficult to find an art direction job. Most of the agencies doing ok focus more on media.
