I just tailor my resume to what that role needs based on my experience
F
Mostly general, but if there are 1-2 industries where the specific work matters a ton to the company I’m applying to, then I’ll specify the industry by type and be specific
I just updated my resume this week, separated my consulting experience by role and then indicated my level and on the far right of the row the dates. For example: “Functional Lead | Senior Consultant (italicized) …. May 2020-July 2022”
I tried to combine similar roles (even if they were across projects) to save space, and keep 4-5 bullets for each grouping. Not that different from a one pager. I just did “select experiences”
I’ve had 6 interviews with tech startups / scale ups over past few months (not actively applying) and none have asked me for a resume. They just check LinkedIn and then we have a first convo before moving to some type of assignment.
Don’t waste too much time on it unless you’re applying to truly large tech cos like Google etc.
