You’re getting arguably more leadership experience at Big 4 since you are in charge of massive teams with a lot of moving parts. For strategy work, it’s a smaller team and pretty defined timeline/scope.
Pro
Experience != impact. I could see how a B4 manager could have experience leading small strategy teams and big implementation teams whereas an MBB manager might not get that big team experience. (I assume the B4 manager is in the strategy practice, not risk advisory or something else.)
But impact really depends on the project set and client size. A non-CEO project at Walmart or Exxon vs CEO at Altria, for example. On average, the C suite projects seem more common for MBB, so impact is likely higher.
