Job has up to 80% travel PwC
How is typically life for these positions requiring travel? This is for a SWE position.
Currently work with clients is remote as stated by the recruiter. If work is currently feasible through virtual means, will there be flexibility to choose to travel for this position?
I have an offer with PWC and have a family. I would prefer to be with my family.

Guardians? Classic fed profile. You guys like so many rules, enjoy constant structure for structures sake, and love living in proverbial boxes. It's fine - you have a lot of value in the world In places I would fail- just not a good fit for a lot of strategy work:) and you drive me nuts haha. I was 0 percent guardian :) no even 1 percent. Which is why I, in turn, would drive you nuts ;) I hate rules and boxes! Set me freeeeee to innovate!!!! 😬😬😬
The irony is this post is just proving the business chemistry theory :) we don't understand each other ...
Truce?
I don't use it straight but the concept is legit -- I'll try to think about what kind of working style people I interact with have and use that to tailor my communication as well as make sure I'm giving people a fair chance and not giving in to my biases. As a Driver (albeit the quiet subtype)/Pioneer, I'm a little wary of Guardians as in my mind they tend to be overly stuffy and micromanaging, and I've also noticed a personal bias against people that can't shut up as they are more likely to be all fluff (if you're quiet and incompetent you don't tend to last long)
Honestly took it at Deloitte and thought it was one of the best things I've ever done. Has really helped me understand other work personalities and how best to relate to them. Also, how to avoid working with/hiring guardian types for strategy work :)
Fair point - certain types of strategy like M&A or pricing def needs guardians and not pioneers like me. 100 percent. But other types of strategy that require more innovation, design-thinking, not your standard approach - that's for me!:)
However, attention to detail is consulting table stakes... no matter your type
Pioneer/integrater here and anyone who has worked with me knows I'm detail-oriented but ONLY as a means to an end. Question the status quo! Challenge existing paradigms!! My Integrator side helps me see the bigger picture:)
Wow. Well, Op I didn't see that passionate response before I made my last response to D1. Re-read my first post. I think I made fun of myself as much as anyone else. My tone was lighthearted. So you're misreading the whole thing. Never said federal consultants aren't bright. In fact I did some federal work at Deloitte:) and you have to get super creative to weed through red tape. Most Feds are, in fact, guardians as I learned at Deloitte. You are also taking Fed and guardian to be negative, like I called you a name, and the whole point is that we need all kinds - none of the four b chemistry types are supposed to be bad just suited to different work styles and types of work. And I didn't love the fed environment because I don't work that way.
Not intended to offend - sometimes tone comes across wrong in these posts.
Apologies😇..... oh! I see something shiny! What's this post about again? (That's a crack on me)
Also you do realize Pioneer and Integrator are two of the 4 work styles- the others being guardian and driver. I'm not just calling myself a pioneer :) 😂
Okay Accenture 1, truce. Im warming up to you now
Guardians. 💩.
An awesome concept that has been overdone and is now complete bullshit.

Hey what's wrong with guardian types :)
Every strategy project I've been on stressed attention to detail and considering all variables. Guardians have been very valuable team members
Accenture 1- that was condescending, facetious, and snotty of you to write in addition to being overly-simplistic and likely inaccurate. Also I don't work with federal clients these days, but watch your mouth. Our federal consultants are just as bright and motivated as our commercial ones. Clearly you've never worked on a federal project with that kind of dismissive talk. I am glad I don't have to work with your fake ass. Bye!
Everyone else- really encouraging and insightful. Thank you so much and I wish you all success in your careers!
I wish I loved anything as much as you clearly love yourself. Lord have mercy, kiddo.
