How far in advance does your money go? Can you use this month’s pay for next month’s bills?

Lol nah. I'm paycheck to paycheck. It's hard right now with inflation, that's for sure.

like

Depends on what you do and your expenses. I could totally do it if I was living without a mortgage

I wish! I'm pretty much using up my entire paycheck every month just on bills and groceries. I'm not even going to restaurants or buying a lot of clothing. That's just how my paycheck is right now. I got into this field thinking that I would be able to pay off my student loans really quickly, but that hasn't been the case.

Ah yes, sounds just like me lol

It most definitely does not. I could use some of the leftover to pay some of the next month's bills but then I wouldn't be able to toss anything into savings.

When to sell at a loss?

I’m 26 and have a fair chunk of my NW tied to Cloudflare - a tech stock that I believe has the opportunity to 3x and become a $100b+ company over the long term. Similarly, I have a lot in cloud computing etf - WCLD.

Given short term rotation out of growth stocks, I’m confused on what to do. I think we still have some time before growth stocks bottom out, but do I sell?

I would consider myself a “long only” investor, but am unsure what to do given my lack of diversif

Currently 25 years old.
Goals:
* Own a home in a HCOL
* 2 kids (eventually)
* Retire at 50 on $125k/year.

Envelope math:
* $125k/year would require an investment portfolio of ~$3M.
* Targeting a $2M home (split with partner)
* 2 kids - $1M to raise both (including college fund, split with partner)
* $500K buffer for unexpected expenses
* 33% tax

Therefore, 6.5-7M retirement savings needed. To hit this (assuming 6% return after inflation), I’d need to save ~$110k/year.

How does this sound?

Saw my therapist this past Friday and he gave me a useful trick to build better behavior patterns. Whenever you have work to do but would rather nap or something, tell yourself 3 negative effects of the nap and 3 positive effects of doing the work. You might still take the nap, but if you can get in the habit of thinking of it negatively, you'll take less naps when you need to be doing other things.

Doesn't matter what the activities are. Could be working out vs eating more, could be socializing IRL vs wasting time in FB (lol)

Anyone else heard of this/tried it?

Also are there repercussions of rejecting an offer. I rejected 3 days after acceptance. PwC Pwc AC
