How has this year been for everyone? For me, it has been a mix of growth and fatigue. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, took on more responsibility than I ever had before, and definitely had moments where I questioned myself. But having my boss and skip boss recognize my effort and bring me in front of upper management made all the hard work feel worth it. Overall, it was a tiring but genuinely good year for me professionally.

Thank you!

That sounds good. Growth and fatigue seem familiar. I had wanted to get serious about finding a better job, but the job market disabused me of that notion. I really can't complain about how things have gone otherwise, the job I've got has become more interesting. I'm grateful to be ending the year in a reasonably good position, especially given the shape of the world lately.

I feel that a lot. The job market has been pretty sobering this year, so ending up in a role that’s grown more interesting is still a win.

Professionally, my year was incredible. Personally, my year was exhausting. Every professional win was paired with a personal set back. Hoping for a smoother 2026

Totally get that. Crushing it at work but feeling wiped personally is such a real combo. Here’s hoping 2026 feels a lot smoother all around.

Exhausting

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

WLB is next to zero as 60hr weeks are the minimum as of late. Management feels like they are trying to push a few of us out. Was told not to expect much come year end for comp. Any suggestions on finding a new role/pay expectations?
