How important is it to actually have the number of years of work ex in PM job postings? Most Sr PM roles look for 5. I will have 3.5 yrs PM + 7 yrs of consulting when I apply next year. I manage my own vertical, handle Engg, Jira, PMM, Webinars, everything.

Should I wait another year to be at 4.5 before applying? Don't want a lateral move, only promo & cash.
Happy where I am currently, though underpaid and overworked, it's still good work exp with good team, a good manager & complex product.

I’m trying to pivot to PM after >3 years in finance and I have a 2nd round interview with CPO this week. Company has 3.7 on Glassdoor with complaints about CEO, “bro-y” culture, and hard to wfh. It’s a data analytics company with 5 PMs, was bought by a PE firm this year, and has a new (female) CEO as of Oct.
