Canada comp is such a joke considering the living expenses
And absolutely no relativity to past experience!!

Same. 72k out of school. 160k base after 4 years
Entry level (with 2 years' worth of cumulative internships/co-ops) pay was $75k, got $2300 every 2 weeks.
Ofc given current costs of living, I'd consider negotiating for a bit more.
My first job in Canada 3 years ago as an immigrant with 3-4 years of direct experience was 80k. You should ask a bit more based on just inflation already

80k is enough to support yourself. It won't be luxurious but you can still live a happy live.
good if it’s the first job right out of school
Bt the comp bands come with levels assessed. Can OP quote beyond the level band!?
My first job after school in Toronto was 38.5k - 3 years later it’s now 90k

Wait until you see the housing costs. 😂
Had 60k 6 years ago
I don’t want to say this but I feel like a loser with decade experience back home and hired at 80k after Uni here. I hate this feeling

Don't compare up, compare down. In the context of Canada you're in the top 10%. In the world you're in the top 99.99%. Also, if you get a TN job, which I believe you're entitled to as a citizen, you can double your salary in the US in one shot.
