How is life in small law/midlaw? Looking to see if anyone has a steady 9-5/6 private practice law job and if it’s chill.

Depends!

Totally depends on the firm but yes that’s available lots of places

Yes. Love it, thought grass was greener once and left and came right back. It does exist!

Doubt about it

Egh lol go in house for those kind of hours lol

Yes but there are tradeoffs

Generally, fewer resources—talking about things like tech and access to databases/subscriptions but also humans (associates, staff); growth opportunities; cost sensitive clients; less sophisticated matters & clients; training; support systems such as marketing, onboarding, HR.

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

This would be hilarious if it weren’t an indictment on an American president.

I had my first day today at Accenture. Attended the session for attendance but till now did not receive the FORMAL check in mail. Is there any chance I can mail them later saying I do not want to join ACN and abscond or do I have to serve notice period as well?

I feel like I’ve been neglecting this bowl. 😔 I’ve been doing keto with 16/8 intermittent fasting for the past month. By the time it hits my eating window, I’m starving and I don’t have time to make instagrammable meals. Like the one below 😄: Eggs and breakfast sausage with Spanish and Buttered cauliflower rice, and a salad. Not very exciting, I know. But what’s exciting is I dropped 15lbs!!! 😁

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.
