VP role @ small Fintech startup. $170k base + 15k singing bonus (in application I indicated $200k but could go down to $185 depending on total package, so that's what they're trying to do.) Equity stake after 6 months, no other bonus structure yet but promise to reevaluate comp to get to higher $ after 1 yr based on personal & company performance. Unlimited PTO, ok benefits... I really like the position but was hoping for something closer to my asking range. Any room for negotiation?

I had a first round interview, and they contacted me that day to ask for a second. I now had the second on 11/22 and haven’t heard anything since. I figured with the holiday it would take longer, but do we think this is a good sign or bad?

I don't understand all the discourse about firms and Juneteenth. The understanding at my firm is if it's a holiday take off unless you have work to do. I'm not sure there's any holiday that I actually "get off" if my workload doesn't permit it.

Have folks been able to take vacation lately? I feel like work is nonstop and “unlimited” vacation is basically meaningless. Hard just to take a few days off work, let alone to have an actual 1-2 weeks break from work.

Has anyone ever taken a leave of absence/sabbatical due to burnout/exhaustion/depression? I'm feeling at my wits end with everything right now and have an appointment with my dr tomorrow. I feel like some time off away from everything would do me some good - I also have some other medical problems - but I'm afraid of what it might do to my career, what my co-workers/family will think, etc.
