If it’s like EY’s corporate Amex, nothing.
You don’t have to use your personal card
That's not exactly correct. We can expense in Mercury as soon as the charge is available (usually a few days after the expense). If you file for reimbursement right away, you might get the money before it's due to Amex. But reimbursement goes to your bank account and you're responsible for paying. If you're slow doing expenses, etc. then you might front money (or if Mercury is really slow). The policy is not pay the card first and then file for reimbursement, however.
If you call Amex you can pay a $90 fee to get 1 point per dollar on everything you spend. I think there is a discount if you have or sign up for personal Amex too. When I personally signed up for an Amex I got a prorated reimbursement on that fee.
how much would you have to spend annually for that to be worth it?
I always use my personal instead except for lights and hotel where the firm is a little more strict from what I’ve heard. I got the Amex cobalt for now and have loads of points already in my first 6 months! Funded my round trip flight to mexico
