Is it the PM who is asked to decide whom to keep whom to fire or staffing team?

How is a person selected if they are on a project?

Has anyone came across such cases?

Also are the leaves paid fully or only as per basic pay?

There were substantial layoffs at firm and management has denied, saying they were performance related (mostly bullshit). They have not ruled out [further] layoffs in the future.

I don’t want to lose my job, and it would absolutely suck. But I almost feel numb and hard to even get too worked up over the prospect given how emotionally exhausting this year has been. Maybe bcz I feel somewhat safe, but I feel like if it happens, it does, and I’ll find a way to recover/move on.
