6 years in. Still learning something new everyday
Does that mean you should just start as soon as possible
I felt comfortable doing most of the heavy lifting in years 5-6. At year 7.5 now, and I feel confident that I know what I’m doing 80% of the time. 20% is learning something new and/or improving.
I felt good by year 6 with all auto stuff, but feel out of my element at year 14 with wrongful death and more complex liability issues… so still learning!
I’m seeing ppl say “still learning!”
Which is fine.
But another question. When did you feel comfortable to be able to do most of the heavy lifting for a case by yourself?
From intake to verdict?
I said still learning but as for comfort it took me 2 years. Leaned on an experienced paralegal and made mistakes but after two to two and a half years I felt like I was comfortable with my knowledge base
About 6 years to feel confident, 10 to feel like I’d mastered it.
