How long does an "average" recruitment effort take, start to finish? Maybe i'm just incompetent or picky , but i've been searching for a new job for over 1 year now (had few offers that didn't work out).

Got a message from a Bain recruiter looking for experienced hires to start q1. I'm very interested but cautious because they're looking for a speedy process...feels a little rushed. Anything to be concerned about that I don't know? Like could this just be an attempt to get huge app volume or can I assume there's actually a chance if they reached out? I'm at a boutique in a niche industry, so just unsure of what would have drawn him to my profile.

Scenario: You’re interviewing with a Series A startup, funding was ~20 mil. Founders are Ivy leaguers, ~100 full time employees, you’re not in loveee with the role, product is something you do see some potential in being disruptive in the industry. Catch is, they switched the role on you that initially you applied for, new role is lower comp, lower equity (4 year vesting with 1 year cliff), likely less stress though. Base is a ~20% cut from your current base. Do you take the role? Discuss!

Also, their benefits are not very attractive (e.g., 2 week paternity, 3.5% 401k match, unlimited vaca -- which means you have to take permission and have to feel guilty if you take off longer)

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.
