Hi, any folks has experience with the first round of interview at PwC . The candidate needs to answer to a list of questions prompted by a portal HireVue by recording oneself to the camera. I’m apply for a UX designer position, any tips on how I should be prepared for this round of interview? Thank you all.

They usually ask a few scenario-based behavioral questions. They might add a technical question there. You can prepare for these things as you normally would.

What throws most people off their game is the platform itself. Instead of an interviewer, you'll see yourself on the screen and that can distract a lot of people. Try to get used to the platform by answering sample questions on it. Try to focus on your camera instead of the screen (helped me immensely).

Other than that, just try to be confident and you'll do great! All the best

Thank you for the suggestion. I’m collecting questions and practising my answers.

Practice in the mirror a lot before going in to record yourself. Google technical questions UX designer interviews and practice your answers while looking at yourself. Hope this helps.

Usually, the first interview is a general one that tries to test your skills and see if they match the job description. Look online for some potential questions on your position, it might be helpful since all companies have different needs.

Thanks, checking out glassdoor and googling.

If you want to go the extra mile and make a good impression, check out the design team on LinkedIn or reach out to associate product managers since they work closely with the design team and can slip in a good word for you if you reach out to them for advice or insights. By the time the hiring team gets to see your HireVue they’ll have already seen your name a few times and they may be more likely to want to speak to you in person.

Oh wow that's pretty solid advice

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!
