My husband and I have 2 each. We each have 1 card for “fun” and 1 card for home/family requirements/needs. We pay off all in full every month and pretty much use them for the cash back/rewards. We budget each accordingly -like if we know we have a big home thing coming up, we will have less of an allowance for the fun card.
2, but we primarily use 1 to earn 2% cash back and pay it off every month

7 major ones and a few store specific ones. I pay them off every month but like to have options so I can keep my utilization below 30% (really like to keep it under 5%) and that way I have options for larger purchases.
Mine is below 7% too for my good credit score
I'm starting to get into points and miles. I'm up to 6 now.
I have 2 actively used ones and 1 that I'm just keeping open for account age. The 1st active one is used at grocers because it has a 3% cashback there, plus it's got all my subscriptions. It only gives 1% on "other" categories. 2nd one has 1.5%, so it supplanted that one as my main one.
And I pay them both off weekly and just treat them as bank cards.
