How many days off does your company give you a year? We get around 175 hours vacation time and 80 hours of sick time. I find this relatively generous but am curious if this is pretty standard or not

That is a very generous PTO policy. We get 3 weeks of PTO and sick time. We accrue PTO every pay period but the sick time and PTO are all in on ebank. It definitely is not enough.

This would be tough for me to manage if it was 3 weeks combined for sick and vacation time.

I have about average PTO and sick time. Around 120 hours of vacation and 60 hours of sick leave. I think it’s decent, but hearing numbers like yours makes me wonder how different companies structure time off. Does anyone else get a lot of flexibility with floating holidays or personal days on top of standard (or below standard) PTO?

like

We have some flexibility with time off for appointments. We usually don’t have to log an hour or two here and there as long as our work is done

224 hours of PTO + an additional 40 hours every 5 years (only for that year) beginning at 10 years. No separate allotted sick time.

like

We get 21 days PTO each year and if you’ve worked there for 5 years, you get 5 more additional days

Hey guys! Currently in WM ops at Morgan Stanley for the past 1 year dealing with alternative lending, I’m super underpaid with 3 years of experience which is very frustrating. (73k). Have been at Morgan for 1 year and looking to come over to JPM for an ideal pay bump, but would like to get into IB type roll. Any insight on what I should expect or how to go about applying? Maybe even getting referred? I have a deep knowledge of investments and always felt inclined to go down this route.

Hey Dallas folks!

I want to get to know the local private companies. I worked at a private company with 2-3k employees before my MBA. They had an amazing culture, but limited progression opportunities. I'm thinking about looking for a smaller company (couple hundred to couple thousand employees) in the Dallas area and looking to find an amazing culture.

Anyone have recommendations on companies with great cultures in the Dallas/north of Dallas areas? (I live in the Plano/Allen/Mckinney area)

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

Does anybody know what the typical salary range is and total comp for someone starting out as an internal or external wholesaler? If you are one of these, can you share about your experience in terms of whether you liked it or not, work life balance, travel, etc?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
