How many days required to get a feedback of an interview?

Hi there -
I applied to an experienced consultant position at Bain and just heard back. Yesterday, I received an invite to a HireVue one-way interview to complete. Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. Can anybody offer some insight into each of these/the process?

Anyone who’s moved from consulting to VC, what are some of the ways you’ve made your application stand out? How much of securing the role was down to networking?

I have been trying for this company for more than 2 years now but not even a single interview was scheduled. Worse part is if the profile is already in the system, it doesnot consider it for other jobs. I can see a lot of postings in job site but cannot apply in those.

Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. Those that have exited to tech- do you love your job? I am trying to leave consulting but think part of my problem in interviews is I come across as Jack of all trades, master of none. I have a question, I got a contract role through a recruiter. Initially the recruiter offered the hourly pay rate which was the minimum in my range. Now I got an offer from the company. Now without me asking her she increased the hourly wage to the maximum range I asked. Which makes me doubt if the company increased it or she knew the rate all along but gave me the lower rate ?
