Those that have exited to tech- do you love your job? I am trying to leave consulting but think part of my problem in interviews is I come across as Jack of all trades, master of none. It’s made me wonder if interviewers can tell I don’t really know where I fit. I want to work on cool tech products and have decent WLB. Am applying for strat and product roles.

Any idea where the ceiling is for Deloitte SM in M&A strategy? What's the next step up from SM? and what the band is there?

is it worth it to shift to IB or MBB after 7 years in the big four(audit and fdd)? I do think IB and MBB are interesting fields that you can acquire unique skill sets and a good network. But I don’t think I couldn’t keep up already for a daily grind. The reason why I did not pursue it earlier in my career is that I am not from a target school and I do not have an MBA. lol thoughts?

I'm an RN of 7 years, experience as a coordinator, on committees and do all the things. But now I just don't want to go to work anymore. I have anxiety every morning over nothing, just having to go perform my job. I could do my job in my sleep so I'm just lost and confused. My body is clearly sending me messages to leave. But where do I go? I think I need to step out of patient care.

I took a product management course this year and it felt really good and different from the day to day of Talent Acquisition but I couldn’t help but wonder if it was the wrong time for this considering the state of tech. Hello! Generally speaking at B4, other than age-related restrictions (being ~50+), what are the factors that typically drive Partner / MD candidates to choose the MD path over the Partner path?

Has anyone found roles in Big 4 or industry that allowed more work life balance when their kids were young without damaging future career trajectory? I'm a partner with young kids and feel like I'm missing out on too much of their lives. Wishful, but my dream job would have a lighter workload in terms of time and pressure for the next ~5 years, but not set me back too much (or at all) when the kids are older and tired of me in a few years and I'm ready to be back at work full force.
