How many of you truly disconnect while on vacation/PTO? Some of my previous roles I had to bring my work laptop with me, thankfully I don’t have to do that anymore!

Luckily my employer doesn’t allow the laptop to go international, so when not domestic, I’m completely disconnected.

That’s great to hear. I believe we can bring our laptops with us since a lot of sales travel internationally to meet/engage clients.

🙋 🙋 🙋 I work hard, so when it's time for a vacay, I do that to the fullest as well. I do bring my laptop but I only bring it for "just in case circumstances" or to watch a movie

And consume it will. I’ve been there as well. Thank you for your input!

Unfortunately, we are starting an important project the week I have already scheduled for vacation. I don't normally take my laptop or work during my time off, but this time, it is necessary. I will have to check in daily to make sure we are on track and to troubleshoot. Hoping things go smoothly so I don't get sucked into working too many hours. Just bad timing on my part.

Sorry to hear that. Hope everything goes well for you.

I must admit that I struggle with it. I have FOMO bad when it comes to my career. I never want to miss out on an important update or a notification that I need to work on.

Totally understandable, especially when I’m gone for a week I feel like things change and when it does I want to know why.

I presently work in a serene and welcoming workplace where the atmosphere is extremely soothing, but I believe that given my current circumstances, my cost of living is too high and my pay seems to be very low given that I have quite a few additional responsibilities on my shoulders. Anyone who joined after March’22 who got the VPB letter?

So, I've been thinking alot and did quite some research but would really love some insight (Accounting vs Fund Accountant)
As a newbie to accounting (completed my graduation and am currently halfway through ACCA), I've worked 3 years in accounting and account operations (AR, AP, Reconciliations, accruals, prepayments etc) and wanted to check out the other side of the coin in Finance.

I recently came across a role of Fund Accountant and wanted to really know what the day to day work looks like

It’s very discouraging to continuously receive these rejection emails. With 9 years of supply chain experience, I am not sure why I would not be able to at least get an interview for entry level roles that require no experience. Not just this one pictured but others as well. I’ve applied to maybe 60 positions since May, both mid level and “entry” and no interviews. I’ve had my resume professionally re-written twice. Not sure where the disconnect is. Anyone else going through this same thing?
