😂 on this boat right now. Our department went from 7 to 3 and our boss has no intentions of hiring. Looking for a new job now.
My coworker was pulled to the outbound team and manager left, leaving me to run the whole inbound operations by myself. We should have had at least 4 inbound specialists and 1 manager just to keep up with the workload.
I think it depends on the workload but, no less than 1 manager and 2 specialists for inbound for sure.
If they ever agree to start hiring, let us know the company!
I think it matters the scope and complexity of your operation, and the maturity/capability of your team. My team covers forecasting and demand planning, master scheduling for 4 plants, raw material planning and fulfillment for the same, as well as deployment planning for a $400M division in a publicly traded company - we manage about 5000 raw materials and FG SKUs. I have 12 people in my organization.
Is your employer trying to reallocate those responsibilities to current team members? Or is there really not a need for that many team members? To be honest, I would not hesittate to say something if I was being given a lot more responsibility. If it didn't come with a raise, I'm looking for another job ASAP
We have 12 people and we still find it hard to cover everything. Some of them are not that efficient and capable so maybe that is why. I'll give it another month and if things get worse, I'll start looking.
