How many years of experience is considered standard for Senior Copywriters to be eligible for ACD roles? I've been one for 1.5 years and feel and think I'm ready for the next step, mostly because I know I'm better at the functions of an ACD than I am at my current job. Why are recruiters so skeptical about this? I'm always asked if I think I have the chops...it's kind of disrespectful.

I thought this would help make me look like a stand out on job applications along w/ my international internship but I can’t get an interview for an entry level job at big companies like Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, or Leo Burnett. Should I take my MBA off my resume?? What am I missing??

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

HR folks — what feedback have you obscured by offering that line instead?
