It depends on the company. Some companies do not negotiate as a matter of policy but most do. Also things like RSUs and sign-on bonuses are typically easier to get than an increase in base.
If they posted the range up front, and your expectations differ from what they have proactively communicated, it probably would’ve made sense to raise your comp expectations before the offer stage, oftentimes comp increases above a stated range require them to get approvals as your offer letter may have been approved already by the necessary folks at the stated comp level.
Typically they are far more restricted on the base. You’re likely to have more luck pushing for more sign on cash or RSUs
I just did this and didn’t have any luck negotiating on the base, but was able to move the bonus up somewhat.
What a3 said. It couldn't hurt to ask at the offer stage though, so long as your request is reasonable ie. Asking for 50% more than what they're offering is probably overkill but asking for like 25% more might make them be more willing to entertain something and you land on 15-20% above what the offer was
At my co - easiest thing to negotiate is sign on bonus - equity and salary are more difficult and subject to layered approvals.
Same.

Depends on so many factors…on the company and role and how much better you are than other options etc. I’ve successfully negotiated 2 of 3 times. Once I won a ton. Once I won a little. The other I only won better relocation package.
