How much did your salary increase after your first-year anniversary? I have about 3-4 years of experience.

I’m currently severely underpaid to due the high demand in the job market. I used Robert Half’s Salary Guide and asked for a market rate salary for my area which is a 16% increase from my current salary and leadership has recognized all of my achievements at work. Is this reasonable?

25 years of experience. I have only had a double-digit percentage increase in pay when changing employers and each of those roles I was severly underpaid. Promotions over the last 15 years have garnered 7-9% increases and my average pay increase year-to-year is ~4%. I keep track of all my pay changes and I make 5.4x more than I did on Day 1 of my career. If you are severly underpaid, find new employment.

Unfortunately, the best way to increase your compensation is to change organizations.

I agree with this however I’m also weighing other values my org provides me. I’m pretty happy just very under compensated compared to the market rate.

No, 16% is a promotion not a raise. Normally annual increase is around 2-4%. If you did something significant last year, you may get a little more.

Hello,
Can we get promotion after the mid year review in CitiusTech?
Or the promotion for the mid year already done?
I see for many people the designation has changed but for me it's not. I was under the impression that the promotion happens after the mid year discussion or after the year end discussion.
Can someone please tell the details and when we can expect the new revised letter mentioning the new designation.

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

Hey! I'm just about to start doing some freelance work for a NYC based boutique design studio, and I need to give a hiring manager my hourly rate to give his customers. I am new to UI/UX design. I have experience in graphic design, but I just completed a certificate in UI/UX design so other than school projects I don't have an extensive amount of experience. What would you suggest I should charge? I am more interested in gaining experience than needing the money, but want to be payed reasonably.

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.

Bridge between Customer Support and Product Design?

Hiya! I am in the final round of interviews at an EdTech platform for a role that is the bridge between the Customer Support and UX/Product Design teams. I act as that bridge in my current role but on a more informal basis because it is a smaller company.

Would anyone be willing to share their perspective (positive or negative) on the Product/UX end of this relationship? I want to make sure to ask the right questions.
Thank you!
