How much is completely WFH worth to you? Evaluating an offer where base is similar to my current, but it’s completely WFH whereas I’m currently in office 4-5 days a week w/travel

A WFH veteran 14 of the last 18 years. You will save between $7 - $13k on dry cleaning, gas, oil changes, tires, and eating out. My improved mental health that WFH brings is priceless.

It's huge for me. I help take care of my aging parents and they really need me around the house most of the day. I would probably take a substantial pay cut in order to stay home with them.

like

Massive. At least $20,000+.

I cannot stand WFH.. because the other person in my household doesn't respect I'm actually working and cannot be her über driver at the drop of a dime.

But hey, when in Rome.

like

To me it's become non-negotiable because of how much commuting takes a toll on me physically and mentally. I'd be willing to take a pay cut if I needed to to keep my WFH position.

like

Echoing the $20k comment. I've purposely stayed in my current role to remain wfh in a small town when I know I can get a higher salary and career growth elsewhere (those places may be hybrid or full time in office and in different cities).

like

For me, full WFH is worth a lot. Maybe $15–20k when you count commuting costs, time saved, and peace of mind. If the base pay is the same, moving from in-office with travel to fully remote is a big quality-of-life upgrade. I’d view that flexibility as part of my compensation. What’s your biggest concern?

Got an offer for Sr. Financial Analyst for 85k & 10% annual bonus. What's a good counteroffer? I told the recruiter 95k-110k when I first interviewed. This position is 100% remote, headquartered in VA. I live in NYC. Have roughly 2 YOE.

Thanks.

What is a Senior Manager Medical Affairs Clinical dev - Healthcare Innovation Technology (HIT) for radiology imaging - salary?????

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

What is the highest percentage increase you have negotiatied for an internal position? Wondering if all companies typically bump 5-10% for the next paygrade range or is there opportunity for 20-30% jumps.

I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?
