Would suggest investigating why they failed:
1. Were your embryos tested
2. What is your RE success rates (those are public; you can check as they have to report the #s annually)
3. Do you have endo, adeno? Have you done the Receptiva? What about the TRIO to see whether you are pre or post receptive?
4. Have the embryos failed to implant or did you miscarry?
Before moving to surrogacy (assuming you would like/prefer to carry your own child) i would suggest figuring out what is causing your FETs to fail
Sorry to hear about your unsuccessful FETs. I know how frustrating that is and wanting to explore all the options available. No advice just wanted to wish you luck - hang in there.

Happy to help! My sister did surrogacy and it was $150k in 2021 without an agency (she was lucky to find her surrogate by recommendation)

In the US it’s $100k-$200k depending on details. It is cheaper abroad but you have a limited set of countries where it is legal.
Thanks all! 2 were total fails. The final was a chemical pregnancy. I have severe endo but had excision surgery and treated with Lupron for 2 months before the last FET.
Back to egg retrievals we go since we’re all out of embryos. RI doesn’t seem legitimate…
Check out dr Julio Pabon from Sarasota- great success rates. Among my friends group including myself (4 IVFs total) his success rate is 100% among us
Dr. Matters A LOT
Try the RI route once if you would like to, I had similar experience and after 3 failed FETs worked for me. Not necessarily it’s the same reason for everyone, but assuming you would prefer to carry your child worth giving it a try. Sending you love and best wishes!
Reproductive Immunology
We did our first surrogate journey in 2024 and we are starting up another right now. All-in cost is around $150k, excluding IVF and birth-related medical expenses. Rough breakdown is:
- Agency fee: $35-40k
- Surrogate base compensation: $50-60k (Add $10k more if surrogate is in CA and $5k more if surrogate is experienced)
- Surrogate addl expenses: $25k (travel, monthly allowances, cycle fees, etc)
- Surrogate insurance: $10k (unless you can find a surrogate with surrogate-friendly insurance policy)
- Legal: $8k (surrogate contract and parentage docs)
- Your travel: $5k (will vary depending on location and how often you plan to attend appointments)
I would just use $150k as the most likely target if you’re going with a surrogate in the US (both of our journeys are in the US). I personally don’t think it’s worth trying to go out of country. I wasn’t willing to take on the additional risk and uncertainty.
