3 weeks, 730 cold 770 actual
I’m saying that proudly because I have nothing else to be proud of in my life
Ok, Bain
Also OP keep in mind these 760 folks with little studying are the exception not the norm. Let it motivate you but not deter you
WOW! Some y'all are really smart! Give me some of your brain power 🤓
I don’t bring any value to any table
10 months. 570 -> 710.
I’m embracing my role as the dumbest person on this thread 🙂
I’m here with you. Started at 580, still at 670 after 6 months...
I was the same, basically had to re-learn a lot of fundamentals since it’s been a hot second since school - I did 5 months of studying while still working
To essentially be an expert in the basics/know the foundations front and back in order to be able to tackle harder problems. I also ran through practice problems over and over with a timer to get used to doing problems in <2 minutes. Review again sections that are harder concepts for you or you notice you’re not performing as well in

8 months 610 - 740, learn what and how you need to study and you can probably do it much quicker but all in all, run at your own pace!
^^^ these are the much more common GMAT experiences. I studied for about 6 months, went from 590 to 710. I used Manhattan Prep and Target Test Prep for extra quant practice
Got 770 on a cold practice then 770 on the actual four days later. My boyfriend teases me sometimes because he also scored 770 but beat me by 0.5 on the essay lol
I think it really depends on how naturally standardized testing comes to you.
A 770 cold is next level. Congrats. I had to work my a$$ off for a 760.
I took it cold, got a 750. Studied for 3 weeks - got a 760 on the real thing.
My gf studied for 3 months and got a 760. She needed the fundamentals more than me. Seems to be more of a similar situation as yours.
So two very different methods - exact same results.
We took it to have a backup option when the world was falling apart last April, but neither of us intend to go unless we lose our jobs.
8 months for 640 -> 760
Last time I took a standardized test was the ACT which I got a 20 🙃

6 months -
590 cold
Used OG guide/tests and Manhattan prep
Took exam 3 times
760 final score
660->760.
4 months
170 hours
1 dream
I don’t mean to brag at all, but I got a 36 ACT on the first try and a 680 GMAT on my first cold practice exam. It took about a month of TTP and one week of dedicated studying for me to get 750+ on the real test. I’d recommend taking a practice diagnostic to know your baseline score and know if GRE or GMAT is better for you.
I literally just took it after graduating, didn’t prep at all outside of reading the guidelines and scoring rules so I knew what the exam was. Maybe I could’ve gotten a really high score but I’m pretty lazy.
Then again I am very good at math and did a ton of writing in high school so that helped the verbal stuff
Studied hard for 4 months and got a 710. Think I could’ve done better, but tests are not my strong suite and I recognized that so focused attention elsewhere
21 days to to go 660–>730. Took it online, but writing it again in person at the end of the week
3 months full time (not next to a job, but only 4-6 relatively inefficient hours max per day) to get to 730. I’d say 2 month should be enough if you work effectively but I would plan in a buffer to retake the test in case you have a bad day (happened to me on my first test ...)
After reading the rest of the replies, I feel like I'm too dumb for this. Screw it, I quit.
