How much of a raise would it take for you to give up your remote role? My company is only offering me a $4,000 a year raise. Not enough, right?

Depends on your situation. I have a family, I would say 20k. As a single person, 12k.

I always ask, is it life changing money because losing remote is life changing.

like

I think it would depend on how far away I worked. If I'm 10 minutes away? Sure, whatever. But if I'm having to commute 30+ minutes each way? $4k wouldn't cover even the gas and maintenance.

Almost could argue that’s a pay decrease between gas and maintenance

What is that as a percentage. I’d want at least a 15% increase.

Is the $4,000 raise to not work from home or just your annual increase?

I got a forced back to the office full time and I didn’t get a cent more. I tried asking for a raise, but they told me I could take the situation as they were offering it or find a new job.

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. Applied 9/1 and on the applicant portal the status still says “in progress.” I got a great internal referral, but I’ve not reached out to the hiring manager. 😬 I know there were a few hundred applicants — what’s a realistic timeline and what could I say to the hiring manager if I reach out to them. Many thanks.

Hi,
I graduated last year and was working with my university until last month. I extended my STEM OPT with my university before July 5th (first year OPT expiry). I got a new opportunity right after submitting my application & I notified my change in employer (submitted updated I-20 & I-983).
Last Friday, I got another opportunity that is way better than the current one and I don't want to miss. My STEM OPT application is still under review. Would it be okay if I change my employer again. Thanks!

How far do you require depts be with negotiating commercial contract terms before your legal review? I’m talking routine low value and risk contracts (e.g., vendor services), where Legal terms won’t kill the deal. My clients blindly forward contracts. I feel contract training in my clients’ future...

Additional Posts in Insurance

Hey everyone! This is my first time posting but I thought I’d try to ask, I received a request from a recruiter to interview for a new insurance company I’ve never heard of: Branch. Looked it up and it seems to be a new “Techsurance” company working with both home and auto policies. Does anyone have any information they could share about this company? Thank you!
