Terminal B at LAX is better known as the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT). You are flying international, correct? If not, you’re almost certainly flying out of a numbered terminal (T1-8).
Whether you can use Pre depends on who you’re flying. US carriers can issue Pre access on outbound international flights, as well as some foreign carriers. A recent list of foreign carriers that can grant Pre is here: https://travelingformiles.com/you-can-now-use-tsa-precheck-at-laxs-tom-bradley-international-terminal-but-when-did-this-happen/
Pre on foreign carriers can be hit or miss in my experience though. I fly British Airways a fair bit and get it only maybe 80% of the time; I chalk it up to BA being a relatively new participant airline.
TBIT can be chaotic, including for check in. Regular security lines are frequently long, but I think the longest I’ve been in a Pre line was maybe 15 minutes.
Last time I flew out of Tom Bradley, late last year, the entire terminal did not have pre check yet. So allow time for that
That have it now, but I would never count on anything running smoothly or as expected in TBIT - I just try to avoid LAX for international.
Thanks, guys! Made it out no problem!
