Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon
Don't be sad that you couldn't get through a FAANG 🤙

It’s MANGA not FAANG now. 🙄
Depends what you’re measuring for. If company success / economic upside, I would put Netflix at the bottom by a substantial margin, and move Amazon up. So Google, FB, Amazon, Apple, Netflix.
If company culture / fun, I’d do the same with Amazon and Netflix swapped.
FB pays considerably more than google and has better perks, so I have it at the top

Honest question: Why do we still consider Netflix part of FAANG if hardly any of us go?
We don't. It's been FAMGA for years -- MAMGA, if you will. People using FAANG are out of touch with the tech scene.
What's your criteria?
If desirability netflix needs to go down.. super cutthroat culture.. their biggest perk is crazy good comp that's heavily cash
Everyone who’s anyone knows that the N stands for Nvidia now and not Netflix
This may be true but Nvidia is a hardware company, so it's hard to leave it in the same sentence as the others.
I think it’s Apple and Airbnb
Each company has their own work style that significantly impacts how attractive they are.
I would remove salaries from the criteria to get a better idea of which one is a better for you
Lol. I rather Microsoft doesn't join the whole acronym thing, just like we have been out of the recent Tech privacy/trust drama issues. So FAANG it is :)
