That sounds like a nice break!

Just the standard holiday shut down from Christmas Eve thru New Years Day.

We have a bonus incentive to work extra on holiday weeks so I’m thinking about taking Christmas off but working OT around it

Probably 2 -3 weeks, from this to 3rd week of December...

Two weeks off starting at the end of the month! Worked through most of last week and am looking forward to a solid block of time. Plan is to have no plans and bring in the new year with some kind of peace and relaxation. Last year I worked basically the whole month and still regret it now.

I will be off for about 2.5 weeks, roughly stretching from mid December to early January.

1.5 weeks.

Almost the whole month

28 days a month we working

None. It's slower this time of year because everyone else takes their PTO during Xmas. I can get more done on my end.

5 weeks

Taking off the week of Christmas

Surprisingly I am not taking anytime off this month. I am actually saving my days off for January.

off after the 20th.. holidays plus 2 sick days and 2 vacation days means I won't be back to work until Jan 2nd. have to use sick days or I lose them. rolling over a bunch of vacation but need the break. I've been pushing off vacation to get my projects finished.

I'm retired but my wife is still working. The company has a "use it or lose it" policy beyond 40 hours (their Newspeak for it is that you don't lose the time off, you just don't get as much next year). Her program has been extremely busy with tight deadlines all year so nobody has taken much time off. She has to work 10 hours next week then will be off the rest of the her. Most of her team is the same way.

... the rest of the year. -- Autocowreck helped me there

Starting December 20th

Recommendations for firms to look into in South FL? I'm in Ft. Lauderdale but am open to Boca or Miami. I'm a first year associate in ID (coverage issues) but really would prefer transactional work. More importantly though, I'm looking for companies who pay relatively well (doesn't necessarily have to be market), are open to remote/hybrid work, aren't sweatshops. I'd settle for insurance work if theres good WLB & $$$ lol

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

We flew back from Ireland today on Delta. I received no email, text or app notification of the flight cancellation or the new flight we were placed on, so we missed it.
