I keep fighting with the product managers on my team, who keep assigning me new features to build without checking first if I had the bandwidth for it. How do I communicate this politely?

I would say something along the lines of, "I appreciate the initiative your team is taking to keep me busy, but I need to be able to prioritize my time so that I can build the features that are most important. Can you please check with me before assigning new tasks? Thank you."

"I would like to be able to work on the new features that you've assigned, but I currently have too many other things on my plate. Can we check in again next week to see if I'll be able to fit them in?" or something like that would be more than okay

Make a timeline of all the things you’re working on, and explain to them that if you do this for them it will take awhile. That’s what I had to do in my position. You’ll see them start weeding out projects that don’t actually matter that much

“Which of these current features under develop should I stop work on to implement this new feature?”

Last week team dynamics took a turn for the worst (even tho in each retro the team always commend each other, you would think team work is great). Team members get agitated with each other for being slow. Team members coming across rude and brash (the same ones are difficult to get hold to offer support, time is money is what someone said💰, the craziest was the client accidently sharing her whatsapp screen, commenting on people's feedback to what she was presenting OMG 😲 How was your week?

This executive I support has given me an e-gift card for the 3rd time in the past 5 months. Each gift card is $300.

I had already told him monetary awards were not necessary as the "thank-you" and words of appreciation were enough for me.

Is it normal to receive such large monetary awards? I think 50~100 is acceptable

I’m currently an associate (no kids) in a very busy corp group (think 50-60 billable weekly). My wife works significantly less (currently part time, 10-15, but hopefully will be full time soon). Any Bridge Engineers/Structural Engineers in here? I got my PE this year and have 5 YOE in TX + an MS. What sort of raise would you expect for receiving your PE working in a consulting firm? I'm at 78k currently, which is apparently still in the upper range of EIT salaries per a job posting in CO. I'm thinking of 15% (5% merit, 10% PE). Any ideas?
