I would say something along the lines of, "I appreciate the initiative your team is taking to keep me busy, but I need to be able to prioritize my time so that I can build the features that are most important. Can you please check with me before assigning new tasks? Thank you."
"I would like to be able to work on the new features that you've assigned, but I currently have too many other things on my plate. Can we check in again next week to see if I'll be able to fit them in?" or something like that would be more than okay
Make a timeline of all the things you’re working on, and explain to them that if you do this for them it will take awhile. That’s what I had to do in my position. You’ll see them start weeding out projects that don’t actually matter that much
“Which of these current features under develop should I stop work on to implement this new feature?”
