How do you break the habit of procrastination?
It's understandable that you would feel frustrated after being bitten by a puppy at work. However, it's important to remember that yelling at your coworker is not going to fix the situation. Instead, try to communicate with them calmly and figure out a solution that works for both of you.
To be fair, while it is unusual for a puppy to be brought to work, it’s still a puppy. Would you yell at a baby for biting/hitting you?
If you put your hand by it, and it bit you, first off doesn't hurt that bad chill out, and second off its too be expected that all puppies bite. You might just want to give an apology for over reacting. No puppies aren't typically in the workplace, but that doesn't excuse a poor reaction. Own up to having lost your cool.
If I were in your position, I probably would've reacted the same way. It's not good that you got bit by a dog, and your coworker should be held liable in some way.
Liable for a mouthy pup? It's what puppies do. If the company allows dogs and OP was willing to interact, I don't see what the coworker would be held liable for.
Your coworker really shouldn't have brought the puppy to work in the first place. It's not fair to expect other people to deal with its shenanigans when it's not even theirs. If they can't handle it, then they shouldn't have brought it in the first place.
You dont know the culture of the company. At the company I work at some people bring their dogs by momentarily or the owner sometimes brings his dog for the day. And I'm pretty sure the OP said puppy. Doesn't sound like the owner was unable to handle it or putting responsibility on others. It's a puppy... they bite. It barely hurts and it's a baby. Yall are so quick to be the victim it's really weak. I don't know if it's younger generation, but in my day a puppy bit you you say "no, no puppy" that's it. No need to flip crap and yell at people
Do you have a history of losing your temper? It would be a different situation if you were attacked by a dog, but puppies are mouthy and their nips very rarely hurt. I understand your coworkers being surprised by the reaction.
