i just switched firms and my billable hour expectation was in my offer letter.
At the end of the day, a billable requirement is not the same as a billable expectation. Many firms require at least 1800, but expect 2000+. Not sure what getting it in writing will do for you. Though every firm I worked for had this laid out clearly in writing by default.

I think the point is, that they can put whatever they want in the offer, the real expectations can differ. So if you're willing to accept the job on obviously ambiguous terms, then I wouldn't be "diffidult" and demand it in the letter.
Have it in the offer letter/contract and if they find you difficult because of that then it’s already a bad start. I wish I had pushed harder to have something written in the contract instead of letting it go because I didn’t want to seem difficult, it came to bite me later.
From my experience, when they are not up front about it they will blind side you with higher requirements later.
I requested it in my offer letters.

Contract or offer letter? Most attorneys are not under contract. If you are under contract then yeah that's super important. If you're just talking about an offer letter then it depends but it sounds like you're premature here. You just had the interview, let's not put the horse before the cart.
It's planning ahead.
