Which looks better on a resume? MBB or MBA?
Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?
Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.

Hard no for me on all-nighters - there is no need for that
A reminder to those reading this that these are folks’ worst experiences and that the vast majority of the time, you are logged off before 10pm.
As a frame of reference, for the past year I’ve only had a handful of nights past 10pm and most of my nights end around 8pm, but I’ve lucked out with managers that care deeply about sustainability. Your experience WILL vary.

Never pulled an all nighter in 15+ years here. Rarely worked past 10pm before becoming an MDP. Rarely work past 7 now with the exception of client and team dinners / travel.
Thank you for setting a good example for the junior team members! Makes a huge difference
Latest is 3am, happened once in 2 years. Typical is 10pm, but some people definitely have an easier time/less intense projects

This but in 10 years consulting.
Never, and I've never heard of others doing them. Heard of some very, very late nights (3, 4, 5am) which is ridiculous, but not an all nighter. Latest for me is closer to 2am and never necessary / never from working all day but instead from taking breaks or waiting for people to return things.
I heard of 6am once. Then taking a nap to be back at 9am. Uncommon though because it is extremely unsustainable
I think the trend is more that nobody will admit it because it probably means their time management isn’t as good or that they have severe anxiety issues. Maybe they don’t last forever at the firm if they find themselves needing an all nighter to finish things.

Oh so you mean all the menial shit that my EM/PL was making us do till 11PM in the client's office that took time away from my true deliverables is the result of poor time management?
Okay...
For what it's worth we had someone join Bain from LEK and she mentioned how much worse the hours were at LEK. She mentioned 2am being fairly common
2am for 2-3 weeks on a diligence
1.5 years, never later than ~11p, and that was like <10x?
Never had an all nighter over 3 years. A couple of 3ams though
1 all nighter as a 2+x. I got 12pm onwards off the next day
Come to ZS. By the time you hit midnight, your counterparts in India are logging on so you can just hand it off and go to sleep.
At McK had several 3am finish, back up at 6am starts over a 4 year career there. Much worse on short, intense studies (e.g. due diligences).
Have had 50 percent of nights finishing at midnight and 10 - 3 AM nights in the past 3 years
