Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

Look at it this way, if the organization where you are currently at felt there was a need to lay you off this afternoon, they wouldn't hesitate. They would be making a decision that they thought was in the best interest of the company with little to no regard as to how it would look letting you go so soon after hire. So with that in mind, if you think this other opportunity is a better one, I would jump all over it.
I usually say, “stay until you’re no longer learning and/or no longer having fun.” That being said, if I was offered $75k more, I wouldn’t be having fun doing my current role knowing that I just passed on life changing money.
Screw what they think it’s 75k lol. Always look out for yourself
Yup, also all raises and salary increases from changing jobs will now be based on that extra 75k salary
75k higher?! What company is this?! Asking for a friend lol 👀
Bro/Ma’am - LEAVE. Like yesterday…
Generally under a year but, if you don’t make a habit of it, you should be fine. And take the new offer.
I think you need to think about several things but if you are going to leave make sure that the position is secure before handing in you notice.
Before I take any job. I ALWAYS request to meet the actual people I will be working with. You spend 40+ hours a week with people. Need to make sure you get along!
I’d ask more questions. Sometimes when things too good to be true, they usually are.
Many people just got their bonuses so I expect there will be waves of people leaving. You never know what you are walking into.
I’d certainly be tempted for $75K more.. but make sure you know what the expectations are.
If you don’t have your license then take new job and act like you didn’t have your old role
The only one who cares about your best interest is yourself. Do what is best for you and you alone. Just don’t make it seem like you are constantly hopping. I myself did not follow this advice and it seems fine haha I have 2-3x what I did after grad school 4 years out so it was worth it for me and I have no regrets. Switched job. 3 times in those years but now I am stuck as I cannot find a way to make more money at my experience level 😂 good problem to have I guess haha
But seriously take it man especially if you believe you will also develop a skill set long term which employees and you find valuable
Before I would look for at least a 30% hike each job switch to make it worth it but now it’s just 20%. Make each job worthwhile as possible.
These companies aren’t loyal to you, you have to keep your self interest as the priority.
I won’t leave for at least $100K more lol
Did you just asked if someone else’s feelings are worth 75k?
What about your feelings? Your future?
I left my wfh job to a hybrid job for 25k
Let your manager know you love the company, but you've this amazing offer. They might be able to increase enough you'd want to stay.
If not take the opportunity, early in your career job hopping doesn't look awful, especially for that jump.
Guys is not 75k more, she's just saying it's higher than her current pay. If that was a case, this wouldn't be an offer to debate.
Commas are important lol
The challenge by FA1 is the the pay is $75k, which happens to be more than the current pay, which could be $70k for example.
The supporting claim by FA1 is that this would not be a debate if the pay actually 75k greater than current.
Perhaps they’re correct if strict information speaking of salary and total compensation follows suit. But on the other hand, what is 75k and reputation impact for a position that’s already 300k in total comp (TC). Likely to be the first scenario, supporting FA1’s claim
Be honest and put it to your manager. They will understand - if they want they can counter offer but in that situation as a manager I’d advise you to follow what you think is in your best interest. Questions to ask yourself first. Is it comparable in terms of job security/career progression/work-life balance? If yes and you’re not just moving for the money then go for it. If there are major compromises to be made then just know that the money comes eventually if you’re in a place that offers good progression and wlb .. so hopefully it’s a win-win situation.. Good luck

Yaaa I agree with everyone else- woohoo 75k increase here you come!! 🥳🥳🥳🤩 who cares about people when there’s 75k lol
Honestly, it is your life so I would say that it doesn't matter how long you've been with the current company. Take the offer if it has better pay but it's not only that, is it a company that you see growth for yourself? If so, take that job without questions!
75k is worth it! I’d say as long as you can explain the moves (without mentioning comp ofc) it’s fine! (Assuming it’s not 6 jobs in 6 months etc)
Take the new offer!
