Extremely transferable. Luxury retail is basically hospitality with a product attached. You already know how to read people, manage complaints, create an experience around a transaction. That's literally what high end retail is is all about. The people telling you it's unrealistic probably haven't worked in either industry.
Look at what the job post is asking for and then figure out what you did that matches that. It won’t be a perfect match. You have to translate how it is. Plenty of skills are transferable, but you have to show how because the person you are talking to doesn’t always know what you did before.

Seems like it would be transferable, you’d be dealing with similar situations. Guest facing, having to provide hospitality and customer service, responding to guest complaints, etc. And you’d still have targets/numbers you’d need to meet
