I've learned my lesson. I'll never fly Sprint again. I feel that way because of delays and a cancelled flight though, I never actually got on the plane!
If it's about 3 hrs or less and a direct, you'd probably be fine if you are mindful of all the additional fees. You can also save by going to the airport to buy the ticket, where they don't charge one of the booking "technology" fees or something, but there can be restricted times this is available.
Took a five hour flight from Chicago to Punta Cana on Frontier and it was fine. Especially for half the price of United. Wouldn’t mind flying Frontier again!
Over the last few years even the big airlines are horrible (United, AA, especially Air Canada) and over charge for pretty much everything. I take a lot of long haul trips and cannot not always afford to upgrade so there are things you can do to make your flight a little more bearable. Save money where you can.
Where do you live? Hawaii is far from 99% of the country… I wouldn’t even consider a budget airline tbh.
Try opening a new credit card to get some points with spend (obvs pay it off every month) but then you could use the points to bring the cost down on the flight.
Another idea is a payment plan, United offers it same as cash so I suspect Delta would too.
I mean, it's bad, but the pain is temporary. Lost money is forever.
Depends on what you expect from your travel experience. As long as you k ow you will pay for water, food (if you decide to buy) or carry on/checkin baggage, you will be fine. I fly a lot and all other carriers AA, DL, UA, WN have their own issues. They have cancellations and delays too.
I could never!
