How valuable is the marketing team in your organization?

Is the team seen as a valuable support group with buy in on important decisions, or is the team looked at as order takers? In the non profit space I’ve seen the worst of the latter, and currently I’m on a team pushing towards the former. Our work keeps driving results that we can point to, which is helping.
