During the initial call with the recruiter he asked for ny expected CTC and I asked for 17 LPA. Can anyone from PwC comment on this? HP and HPE are two distinct companies, but both are supposedly hard on their corporate strategy teams. Base is solid though, TC is light but makes sense for a legacy tech firm.
What is your consulting background?
Interviewed with HP Corporate Strategy a while ago and the director I spoke with was very off-putting. Also claimed my experience was in his words "not real strategy work" lol, despite almost exclusively having done growth strategy, strategic planning, and CDDs. Looks like that guy is no longer with the team though, so culture could be improved.
It threw me off but he actually followed that up with "Do you have any experience that isn't PMO related?" I have no idea how market assessments, CDDs, or developing enterprise strategic plans is considered PMO.
Could have been a language barrier because I was using the word "managed" in the context of managing the engagement but no clue.
Here’s the thing. SM here with 12 YOE in NYC at 240k salary, I guess about 300k TC. So your job sounds great in comparison.
But what will raises, advancement, exit opps look like over the next 6 years? That’s what matters.
Thanks for sharing. What industry? What did you do prior to this role? Great point about advancement and exit opps. The scope of the role at HP is global, and HP is not necessarily your sexiest tech company (e.g. Tiktok, Google, etc.). But then again, I find it hard to find pure corporate strategy roles with these sexier firms, so I think this could be a good compromise
With no context it sounds light
Thank you
Did you end up taking the HP role? How has it been?
