Congrats on the pregnancy and new job! I wouldn’t tell anyone I was pregnant until after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. I got away with oversized blazers until then for my first pregnancy. For my second I started showing a lot sooner. Check your new company’s parental leave policy. Hopefully you will get parental leave. If you don’t qualify, think about how much time you want off and plan to take it unpaid. You don’t get the time back. Even if they won’t keep the job for you because you don’t qualify, your baby is more important than your job. You also have a good 7 months to kill it before your baby is born, and if you prove your value, they will want to retain you. Again, congrats! This is great news.
I wore scarves. Your chest will give you away before your stomach does.
Congratulations! 🎊
Lol this is usually how life happens 😂 congratulations!!! I agree with MD1!!
I got pregnant just a couple weeks after I started my new job and they were great about it - and I'm in the US so, you know, we worry here as women. I got 3 months of full paid maternity leave and came back to work literally the same day as FMLA would have kicked in (though I wasn't worried I'd need it). I even got a raise and bonus while I was on leave. This position was a career change for me and I get head hunters contacting me a lot, but the maternity benefit was a big reason I turned them all away those first couple of years with the company. There are tons of horror stories, but it can also work out really nicely.
Life happens. They will adjust. This happened to me. I worked until my due date but didn’t qualify for maternity benefits as I wasn’t there for a year
Aaaaah yes…I’m in the USA…I think it will ultimately land on the preference of the company…we shall see. I’m mentally preparing for the worse.
Omg I found out I was pregnant during orientation lol. My nausea was so bad I had to tell then a few weeks in. I couldn't go to the office for a few weeks.
