I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

So you can finally show mom what you do all day.

Is this true ?

Yay or nay? Can't make up my mind 🤯

Are you saying leadership seminars don't work?!?!

Don’t bring it up until you have an offer in hand.
Agreed with Leader 1, get that offer. This is an amazing advantage of the remote situation! Good luck and feel good. 7 months is where it allllll gets real 😄
I switched jobs at 7 mos pregnant but was upfront from beginning. I think it’s ok to wait for offer but you also need to know if you’ll qualify for paid mat leave and expect that’ll be part your decision to accept or not. I had a good experience being transparent and got a full paid leave.
I switched at 7mos and confirmed I was pregnant after I had the offer. (Some probably assumed after having met me in person). Their response “we’re considering the long term need and we think that you’re the right person for that. We’ll continue to manage as we have been while we’ve been recruiting while you’re out on leave.” It was amazing and I’m grateful for having had that experience because it was so different than the employer I had when I was pregnant with my first child.
If they wouldn’t hire me pregnant, I probably would like to know that about a company. You don’t have to disclose anything but you may want to get an understanding of their leave policy, how they treat working parents especially in covid, etc. good luck on both fronts!
^^ This. Also I was hired at 4 mos pregs. Told them at the first interview. (Wasn’t showing yet) Because they hired me I feel much more loyal and motivated. Good luck to you with whatever happens!!
Wait for an offer and I'd also say know what's important to you when you tell them. If they offer you 6 or 8 weeks leave would that be enough for you? What if some of it is unpaid? Just went through this at 6 months pregnant and while the rest of the offer was great, it felt like the leave offered wasn't worth leaving my current position.
I have disclosed it in the past at the interview and didn’t get the job. This was over 8 years ago, the industry has changed a bit but you never know. I always wondered how my life would have turned out if I haven’t disclosed my pregnancy. I would get their final approval and then disclosed it. If they really value you as a candidate they would hire you and wait for you till your maternity leave is over.

Interviewed while visibly pregnant for a job I was very qualified for. Made it to the final round. Had a contact at the company and everything. Didn’t get it and will never know it pregnancy was a factor. I wouldn’t disclose until you have an offer in hand.
