I am a fifth-year at a corporate boutique earning $350K all-in. The work-life balance is very good; almost never had to work weekends in the past five years. I’ve started building a small book and think I could get to $500k -$750k range in the next 5 years, though growth beyond that may be limited. I’m being approached by BigLaw and wondering if I’m leaving money or growth on the table. I’m concerned about lifestyle trade-offs but also feel my learning curve at the firm has plateaued.

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking? I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. What does it mean if there’s a NEP at the firm who’s been there for a long time (20+ years), but never got promoted to EP? Never held leadership roles too. Does it usually mean EPs does not like the NEP enough to get promoted?

So… do you think this is real? I plan to forward it to a partner, but should I first send to IT to see if it’s even real? Just seems weird to me.
