I am a founding partner of a small firm (3M in revenue, 4 partners, 5 full time EE’s). We are growing super fast and have had bad luck hiring lower level preparers and bookkeepers. We hired a consultant to help us hire outsourced help (from India). Are any of you partners in smaller/medium sized firms who have gone this route? We have to disclose to our clients - did you get a lot of pushback from clients? Did you tell your clients outright or just put the disclosure in the EL for them to sign?

If you’re trying to do it for 1040s you can’t just put it in the engagement letters. There are regulations that dictate exactly how this has to be disclosed and how your security capabilities needs to be managed. For business and trust clients you can put the language in the ELs. You’ll get push back from some clients for sure, especially when you’re hiring a contractor vs your own people. But I have been able to overcome a lot of that push back by pointing out that I’m ultimately still responsible and this is just resources to help free up my time to focus on the higher level issues. I’m at a much bigger firm, but I helped build our India practice and have lead the team for the past few years.

Thanks! Did you send an email telling your clients you were specifically doing this or just sent engagement letters with the addendum for them to sign and wait for them to read and ask questions

We did this for a few years thru CCH. It worked well. We did put in the EL and some clients didn't want to do it but most didn't care. I don't think it saved us money but did give us capacity in busy season which is what we were looking for.

You can try Sureprep, they have onshore and offshore options.

Coming from ACN, senior analyst, 3yrs total experience so far & wanting to get into the data analytics/BI work. Currently have had experience working with SQL developer, OBIEE/OBIA, Teradata in ERP and Healthcare projects. I also have my AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert, hoping to eventually get the Data Analytics Cert later. What are my chances of finding a role with another company that'll let me work in BI/data analytics and build up my skill at the same time? Been thinking of leaving ACN.

Looking to move from enterprise SDR to AM/AE externally. Current comp is $50k base,$70k ote but actually hitting 90-95k. Every AE role I see pays 50k/50k(including my company). How do you all deal with time management - and specifically time estimate - problems?

I always underestimate how long things will take, both because we ADHD’ers view time differently and because I don’t build in time for getting distracted.

I work with a partner who asks me by when I can get something done rather than giving a deadline. I appreciate the flexibility but I always short sell myself and end up pulling all-nighters to meet my self-imposed unrealistic deadlines.
