If you’re trying to do it for 1040s you can’t just put it in the engagement letters. There are regulations that dictate exactly how this has to be disclosed and how your security capabilities needs to be managed. For business and trust clients you can put the language in the ELs. You’ll get push back from some clients for sure, especially when you’re hiring a contractor vs your own people. But I have been able to overcome a lot of that push back by pointing out that I’m ultimately still responsible and this is just resources to help free up my time to focus on the higher level issues. I’m at a much bigger firm, but I helped build our India practice and have lead the team for the past few years.
Thanks! Did you send an email telling your clients you were specifically doing this or just sent engagement letters with the addendum for them to sign and wait for them to read and ask questions
We did this for a few years thru CCH. It worked well. We did put in the EL and some clients didn't want to do it but most didn't care. I don't think it saved us money but did give us capacity in busy season which is what we were looking for.
You can try Sureprep, they have onshore and offshore options.
