Got an offer for a sales applications manager role at Cisco and a Strategic AE role at Amazon - both are basically the same pay (130~ base, 220 OTE)
I don’t have any friends at either company so I was curious if anyone has experience and can shed some light on culture/ work life balance to help me make a decision? Thanks for the help guys!
Hi,
I have around 4+ years experience as a technical support engineer for Microsoft processes like windows, exchange server and worked on both b2c and b2b environments. I would like to get in Vmware as a support specialist role or technical support engineer. I don't hold a degree at the moment, but doing a distance degree now. Will VMware consider this and is there any way for me to get in for these roles? Please share your comments.VMware

1) Project with mid size firm I have an existing relationship with, but has actively communicated that they are looking to move away from contractors as much as possible. The project is fully remote, client contract has been signed, and I am already staffed in their internal systems. Rate is agreed upon and is very good, which is probably a good reason why they're looking to move away from contractors. Project is slated to start Monday, but might get delayed a week. Firm has been competent and reasonable through my work with them.
2) Long term project with Fortune 500 client through big consulting firm. Client has already committed over a year of work for this role via signed contract, with intent for the project to go on for a couple years after that. Initial fee was not competitive, but after interview, they said that I was a perfect fit for the role and the only candidate they had, and they literally said "name your price, we'd like to have him start Friday if possible". Decent reputation in the space.
3) Decent sized firm but consistent demand, as the software vendor is actually an investor in said firm. Interest in a long term relationship on both sides (I would be the go to guy for lots of work in this space), but as a contractor, which will allow me higher rates, work with part time clients on the side, etc. Firm has basically said "name your price", but realistically would offer me 10-20% more than #1 at most. Probably has best reputation and most competency in the space out of all 3 options.
Care to elaborate McKinsey? Appreciate your input.

Is this real? If it is real, go with #3, pays > #1 and provides good learning opportunity.
Btw, what is your skill set for the client to give “name your price” option.

Cool, best of luck OP. If I were you, I will go with 3 for the reason I have provided.
