Start looking at roles now and plan for how you can move into those. Whether it’s a certification or moving to a specialty instead of generalist. Also, keep track now of what you are doing and accomplishing, goes a long way when you are looking to move.
Best of luck! Try to network wherever you can, too.
I got my start in HR with Amazon as a Senior Human Resources Assistant (now they’re called HR Partners) and was offered around $70k USD with about 1 year of experience as a HRA. Since then, I’ve moved around in a few fulfillment/distribution centers like Home Depot and Sephora. I find that the distribution and fulfillment industry are pretty open to hiring HR staff with little to no experience, HR education, or certifications. The big name companies have pretty well structured policies and procedures, they just need bodies to do the work and use sound judgement. They‘ll work the heck out of you but if you can do it for a year, you can work anywhere.
I fibbed on my resume. My roles didn’t have flashy titles so I changed them. HR can be many things, I’d focus on conflict resolution for all the times you listened to your coworkers complained, onboarding when you had to train a newbie, recruiting when you told your friend about your job, payroll for all the times you calculated your own paycheck to make ends meet, managing schedules via your work schedule home life and social calendar. I would then buy books and study up on what you’re looking at specializing in and get certified if you really want to seal the deal.
Often times getting your start is the hardest hurdle to leap. My suggestion is to plan on staying to get that 2 years of experience. You can always keep an eye out as a spot may open up… this way you level set expectations.

I would suggest you to stick to role and try to achieve 2 years target as from experience I worked on temporary contracts as move to the new country 3 years back HR line really competive, I'm working part time looking for full time position from around 3 year, Getting rejected in many interviews in last round, Try getting few certificates which are in demand in HR line and search whilst working full time roll u would get it.
I know a lot of people knock it but you can make a ton of money as a recruiter and some people end up loving it!
Perhaps you could get a contract HR role which pays more to bolster your experience.
