I am F in my 30s, started strength training 1 year 8 momths ago and got into free weights. Yesterday I deadlifted 100kg which is 1.75 my bodyweight for 3 reps. Just wanted to share this milestone! I am pretty cautious and try not to rush going up in weights but was doing 95kg for reps recently and finally decided to step up :) I train by myself so have to learn everything as I go but really enjoy the training. Every day, as you train, you become stronger than yesterday, step by step :)

That’s an awesome milestone—congrats! Pulling 100 kg for 3 reps at 1.75× bodyweight is a big accomplishment, especially in under two years of training.

It sounds like you’re doing it the right way, too—progressing patiently and building strength step by step. That kind of consistency really pays off over time. Training on your own and figuring things out along the way takes a lot of discipline, so credit to you for sticking with it.

Keep enjoying the process and celebrating the wins along the way—they matter.

Out of curiosity, what’s the next goal you’re working toward? 💪

How do you do that? I hurt my back if I do RDLS with 20kg >1y at the gym :(

I started doing exercises with very low weights like 2kg dumbbells and went up adding weights gradually. I try not to do many supersets and make sure to take rest between sets to avoid injury.

Thanks so much! 😊

That is crazy progress. What kind of program how many days a week?

like

I am doing 4 days a week split: upper body push, upper body pull, lower body squat and lower body deadlift and core across these days. I was thinking regarding reprogramming so that each part is hot twice a week but haven't done this yet.

For any of you real estate investors, what tools or sources did you learn from when getting started. Can’t find a mentor currently so want to find some highly recommended books or videos. If focused on the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Long Island mainly) that would be even better. My hope is to buy and rent out a apartment while also owning a house and house hacking that by renting part of it out. Trying to understand all the steps, traps, and how to find if it’s a good investment.

I’m in big law and on the cusp of making the jump to in-house. It sounds like the company I just interviewed with is getting ready to make me an offer. It’s definitely going to be a pay cut coming from big law but I do get some nice equity in the company. Is the jump worth it? I’m so burnt out by big law and this seems like an awesome opportunity to help shape a newish company. Any tips on how to figure out if this is the right move for me?

Anyone going to the security/privacy conference in DC this week?

I joined in Accenture as level 8. Prior to joining, I was apporached by a project, and they seemed to not convince with my lack of knowledge about the role hence they dropped me even after contacting couple of times. Now I have got call from another one and they also seem to be not fully sure because my last role was very different. My question is how difficult is it to get a project in Accenture? Will this interviews continue? Also, what are the chances of me getting a suitable role?
