Whatever you do, do NOT tell your girlfriend that Yoga alone is not sufficient. WW3 happened. It’s still going. She’s on a yoga strike. Whoops.
Hahah yikes
I do yoga as my primary workout! I normally don’t target weight loss with yoga. However, I have found that intense vinyasa flows paired with a healthy diet have helped me lose a few pounds in the past.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most efficient way to lose weight, but it’s certainly possible!
Agreed! Alo Moves is great - CorePower is also really good, but I’m not sure if they have online classes
I do yoga 2x per week to stay bendy and then run 2x per week to actually stay in shape
I like the balance!! Loll before I started doing it I forgot how less bendy I have gotten
Chief
It used to be my primary and I was definitely at my strongest! 4-5x week for 60-90 min
Once I added in running and caloric deficit it was pretty clutch
Good for you!! That’s + running is a lot of working out in a day
I've done some pretty intense yoga classes! I think if you enjoy it, it can definitely be your primary workout. To burn more calories you can try power flow classes or post covid, hot yoga even!! (I say post covid cuz I can't imagine hot yoga in a mask omg)
Haha it definitely doesn't seem appealing and is still kinda gross when you do it, but the feeling you get after is irreplaceable, I'd do it just for that feeling

Yoga is helpful with balance, strength and flexibility. Three critical components to fitness. But, it was never intended to be a form of physical exercise but rather a preparation for sitting in meditation. We’ve modified it in the West, so there are now cardio focused “yoga” classes, strength “yoga” classes. Etc.,
Spot on!
Yes!
Since covid started and gyms closedown March, I started doing virtual CorePower yoga 4-5 days a week (before, I did it once a week supplemented by other workouts). I lost 12 lbs (25 total since 2019) between March and May. I then gained 30 (bc I gave birth a few days ago). :)
CorePower yoga is high impact, vigorous, cardio and strength training and well worth it. And I’m no “yogi”- I just enjoy vigorous workouts.
Good for you!!! Congrats on the baby! Lolll I’m def no yogi either, I just like the stretching.I’ll check out core power!
I do! I more do it to stay tone than to lose weight. I very recently added running 2-3 times per week but I still do yoga daily.
I second downdog!
