Ask questions - a lot of them. This is your chance to bring to light lack of process (or broken processes). If your manager can't answer or provide what you need, ask politely who else you can also learn from or what resources are available for you to pick up knowledge from.
As D1 said, you'll need to figure out what your threshold is with being ok with this. Place a deadline for yourself how long you're willing to deal with this.
Did they tell you about any of this during the interviews or it’s a all a big bad surprise? You’ll have to decide how much of this is fixable, what your tolerance level for chaos is, do they have a plan or desire to improve all this. If it’s not going to work, then keep looking and learn from this. Ask better questions, probe more during the interview about things that matter to you
How long have you been there?
Ask at least 3 different people the same question. Send and email back and confirm what they said. Then once you’ve determined what road you are taking, send a follow up email to all concern letting them know your path forward. This gives anyone an opportunity to respond. Also, don’t be afraid to develop your own processes letting your team know the steps you will be taking. It’s going to be hard since you are junior but it will be your chance to shine. Good luck!
Been there, and it’s definitely important to know what your threshold is, but do know that you can still learn a ton even with all the mess. Look at it as an opportunity to beef up the resume (while maybe also looking for the next thing). Beyond how to ask better questions in interviews, you might have to learn to manage up which is not fun to learn but super useful. If there are a lot of holes, it gives you opportunity to step up and stand out. Find outside training programs and ask them if they will pay. Have virtual coffee with other people in the company and find people with expertise in other areas—befriend them and have them as sounding boards. It’s sink or swim, and it is painful but it’s great fodder for interviews!
I am literally experiencing the same thing. Especially when now everyone’s wfh and less approachable. Plus technical difficulties make everything more inefficient
Welcome to the world of agencies. You are junior and you can't fix this many problems. My advice is find a company that has a reputation for expertise and/or training up employees and jump ship. Where you are at you will only learn bad habits the will inhibit your growth potential.
I’m not in an agency
