I am having trouble getting the prestigious, career enhancing work assignments. I do good work and my staffing coordinator and the partners jokingly call me “special ops” for tricky/thorny deals. They also frequently call me “to save the day” when another associate who was given the assignment has messed up. My reviews are great and so are my hours. Why am I not first pick for the “good” assignments? I’m a woman POC with 9 YOE and white men get the plum assignments over me every time.

Okay so I’m a newly licensed attorney in a very conservative part of TX. I just got my first job offer and I was worried at first thinking that I was in “Trump” territory, but I tested the waters in my interview and spoke about police injustices and how prosecutor’s job is not only to protect victims, but also defendants from police injustices. I have to let them know by tomorrow, but thoughts on if this is a good career move for someone who wants to work in transactional work-RE or Bankruptcy?

What was your experience with the LSAT? Do you think it's gatekeeping, preventing students who can't afford it (often people of color) from entering the field? OR is it helping future attorney's of color by giving them a chance to go to a top school regardless of grades? I've seen questions about the LSAT all day and just want to know how people feel.
